Larry Leonard has over thirty years of private teaching experience, on trombone, baritone horn and trumpet. He attended Chicago Musical College of Roosevelt University as a Music Education major, and has studied with Richard Schmidt, Maurice Golden, Wesley Hanson, Sigurd Swanson, Ardash Marderosian, Frank Crisafuli, Arnold Jacob, and Bill Porter. Ensembles performed with include the Jazz Unlimited Orchestra, the American Wind Band, the Elmhurst Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Oak Park/River Forest, the University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Elmhurst Symphony. Featured soloist with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lake Shore Symphony in performances of the Larssen Concertino for Trombone and Strings, and the Elmhurst Symphony on Tommy Dorsey's theme, "I'm Gettin' Sentimental Over You".
