Rising Chicago saxophonist Corbin Andrick is making himself known throughout the city by performing regularly in the jazz, funk, rock, and soul scenes. Corbin hails from Decatur, Illinois where he studied saxophone with Perry Rask, and was under the direction of Jazz Educator Jim Culbertson. He also studied at Birch Creek with John Wojciehowski, Mike Lee, Anton Denner, and Mike Stryker. In 2006 & 2007 he was selected for the I.M.E.A All-State Honors Combo directed by Reggie Thomas (2006) and Jeff Campbell (2007). He finished his high school career by recieving Downbeat's Student Music Award for "Winner Jazz Combo" & "Outstanding Performance Jazz Ensemble." Corbin chose to attend DePaul University and study with jazz icon Mark Colby, Ron Perillo, Bob Palmieri, Tom Matta, and Bob Lark. In 2008, Corbin was selected to play tenor in the Disney All-American College Band. During this time he studied with Bob Sheppard, Sal Lozano, and Matt Harris. He is also published in "Halftime" Magazine with an article about his experience in the band. Upon his return, Corbin started free-lancing around Chicago, playing many different styles of music from musicals to free jazz. He became a regular member of Kosher Curry, The Ryan Adamsons' Medium Ensemble, Bumpus, and newly formed Seven Days.
